Pluto, Mars and the root chakra: When the body reveals your basic sense of safety
Pluto and Mars are strong co-players when I work with your root chakra. Pluto is a trauma planet, which also carries your family patterns and mutual control dramas. It often reveals the deep imbalances in your root chakra. Imbalances that can show themselves as fear, unhealthy longing, insecurity, financial challenges, restlessness, low self-worth, anxiety, or the feeling of not belonging or not being enough.
When the imbalance is felt in the body
A root chakra in imbalance will often show itself physically. It can feel like:
Cold hands or feet
Fatigue
Weight fluctuations (overeating or undereating)
Muscle tension
An imbalanced root chakra will rarely take responsibility. It often lets things slide. It seeks escape strategies through work, food, or other addictions. It has an increased need for control, may show jealousy, aggression, and an intense fear of change.
The body reacts accordingly: stiff muscles, inflammation, overeating, craving processed food, alcohol or stimulants. It becomes difficult to let go. Often conflict-seeking behavior arises as a way to “empty” oneself energetically.
The deepest theme of the root chakra
The greatest challenge of the root chakra, which is also reflected in the thumb and the lower part of the hand, as well as in Pluto and Mars in your horoscope – is the feeling of:
“I do not feel safe” or “I must fight to survive.”
It is not about suppressing the symptoms. Suppressing symptoms in an imbalanced root chakra can provide temporary relief, but it does not solve the underlying causes. Focus on deeper healing through conscious work, self-reflection and energy practices is what creates lasting balance.
What is interesting is not to treat the symptoms, but to find the cause of the imbalance. Here the hands are fantastic in their clear communication, and the horoscope can even more precisely reveal the patterns connected to your past. Remember that both hands and horoscope carry what has happened, but also what is to come.
Root chakra imbalance is often connected with:
Early childhood experiences
Trauma
Lack of care
Controlling or absent parents/primary caregivers
Controlling or absent adults in educational institutions (from daycare to higher education)
Healing begins in you
It is important to do many things at once – and even more important that it is you who does it. When you actively engage in your own healing process through small, conscious actions every day, you create momentum. It can be everything from yoga, breathing exercises and meditation to setting boundaries, feeling the body and consciously changing old behavior patterns. Each action strengthens the connection to yourself and to your root chakra. It is not one single session or a quick fix, but the sum of your actions – your choices – that gradually bring your root chakra back into balance.
That is why it is important to understand the cause of your imbalance. Without insight, the pattern returns. And if you do not yet know the cause, I am happy to guide you.
When the cause becomes clear, you can begin to change the behavior patterns that keep the energy stuck. When behavior changes, the energy begins to regulate itself – and your root chakra seeks back into balance.
When the root chakra is in balance, you feel:
Deep calm in the body
Trust in life
Stability
Clear boundaries
Presence
Physical strength
The feeling of belonging
An inner safety: “I am allowed to be here”
Are you ready for a small challenge? I have personally had great success with this exercise:
Exercise: Conscious choice in front of temptations
Next time you are sitting in front of cake, candy or chips, try the following:
Stop and breathe – take 3 deep, calm breaths, and feel how the body feels.
Feel your hunger or desire – ask yourself: “Am I really hungry, or am I seeking something else?”
Set an intention – e.g. “I choose what supports my body and my root chakra.”
Act consciously – eat slowly, or choose to leave the temptation and feel what it is like to say no with calm in the body. Praise yourself for staying with it.
Reflect briefly – afterwards, feel the difference: Does the body feel more calm, heavy, or something else?
It is not about “forbidding” yourself a temptation, but about creating awareness and strengthening the connection to your root chakra so your choices become conscious rather than automatic.
Repeat the exercise and you will discover that you become better and better at listening to your inner voice.
I wish you a good experience ❤️
