Chiron er en del af din overgangsalder

Life transitions, crises, phases, cycles, developmental steps, energy shifts, trials, changes, challenges.
A dear child has many names. Menopause is not just something that happens between the ages of 45 and 55 – it is a life transition, and according to astrology, a significant shift where something changes within you.
Did you know that menopause is connected to your Chiron?

Chiron represents the wound you carry with you throughout life – and a path to healing through that very wound. Around the age of 49–51, Chiron makes a Chiron return, where it returns to the position it held in your birth chart. It is a powerful astrological event and often coincides with menopause in women.

It can feel like an awakening. For some, a spiritual awakening. Life’s big questions like “Who am I?” become very clear. But it’s also a period where imbalances become more evident than ever before.
It doesn’t happen overnight. These are energies playing out in your life to awaken you. You will re-experience what you haven’t yet dealt with. If your wound is, for example, self-worth, then you will be presented with experiences and events that urge you to work specifically on your self-worth.

Part of the Chiron return is about rediscovering who you are – not who those around you think you should be.
The heavy planets Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn are all activated during menopause. Through them, you can sense whether you are in balance.
It’s a good idea to meet menopause with learning, growth, and development – otherwise, you’ll encounter the Saturn return as a kind of second round, where you’ve simply swept the challenges under the rug. Saturn comes as a strict teacher and shows you what you can no longer ignore. Saturn return comes in your late 50s.
Uranus you met in your 40s. You might remember that time as a period of liberation.

Astrology works in cycles. Menopause becomes a transition towards something – not necessarily away from something. It’s about transformation.
You might experience loss, divorce, job termination, or other events. This happens to connect you with your deeper layers.

When Chiron returns to its natal position, the wound you’ve carried – as a background resonance throughout life – becomes clearer.
It can hurt, yes, but it’s also a call to heal. Not necessarily to “fix” it, but to understand, acknowledge, and use it as a strength. That’s where the gift lies:

You become wise because you have met your darkness and chosen to go through it – not without pain, but with courage.

Take your birth chart. Find your Chiron. The house placement, zodiac sign, Chiron’s first square, and degree all determine what I have to say to you.
Chiron lives in your hands – in your thumb. So, of course, you can’t help but feel that your body changes during menopause.

Your body changes rhythm – hormonally and energetically.
It’s an upgrade/transition phase. Like a baby going through a “developmental leap.” You’re having a “leap.”
You might have less energy for the outer world, but more capacity for the inner world: intuition, sensing, contact with the unseen.

Crises may arise – but they are entry points to everything you’ve avoided looking at. You’re being asked to do that now.
If you dare go with it, stay in the process, let the old die and the new emerge – you don’t just get a new chapter. You hold keys you can pass on.

Menopause is not a full stop – it’s a starting signal.

A new version of you is calling. Version 5.0

Menopause is often seen as a biological phenomenon with a focus on symptoms and loss, but from a psychological, spiritual, and personal development perspective, it can also be understood as a developmental leap or an initiation.

The reason I compare it to developmental leaps is that it’s more about transformation than decay.
Menopause marks the end of the fertile period, but it also opens a new life phase where many women experience greater authenticity, strength, and freedom.
It’s a transition from being a “pleaser” to being true to yourself.
The body changes – and so does the soul.
It’s often a time when you’re called to rediscover or reinvent your identity.

The hormonal changes trigger reflections and old patterns that may rise to the surface.
This gives an opportunity for deep self-development and healing of past traumas or unresolved life themes.

When the need to “fit in” falls away and the body clearly rejects what no longer works – you can step into a more whole and free version of yourself.
Just as puberty is a transition between childhood and adult life, menopause is a transition between adulthood and the wisdom phase – a new female archetype, where you’re no longer defined by roles like mother, lover, or career woman, but by your own inner strength.

You can always choose – no matter what phase of transition you’re in – whether it will be one of self-pity or growth.
